Melanie is a creative, designer, and partner at Hyland Glass. Curious by nature and mostly self-taught, she moves easily between glass, clay, sculpture, and whatever else catches her attention.
At Hyland Glass, Melanie works alongside Casey Hyland, bringing an instinct for color, form, and the unexpected to the studio’s objects, lighting, and larger-scale works.
She likes beautiful things—but prefers them with a little weirdness.

Casey is an artist, glassmaker, and co-founder of Hyland Glass. He has spent decades working with glass, developing an intuitive understanding of a material that rarely does exactly what it’s told.
His work balances precision with experimentation, moving between sculptural objects, lighting, and large-scale installations.
Casey is most at home at the furnace—making, testing, and occasionally ignoring the sensible way of doing things.
