This Blow Your Own glass experience is one of our more intensive, hands-on experiences.  Choose your colors, and sit at the bench while the glassmaker gathers molten glass.  You’ll use a variety of tools, including a wooden block to manipulate and shape your paperweight into a heart shape.



Eggs-Blown

Hop into the glassblowers’s bench to Blow Your Own glass egg this Spring.  This experience allows you to work with hot glass up close, while staying on the cool end of the glassblowing iron at all times.  You’ll start by choosing the colors you want to use for your unique glass egg, and then partner with our professional glassblowers to create your design.  You will shape the egg by blowing air through the moving blowpipe as the glassblower guides the glass with special tools.  After you and the glassblower have shaped your egg, it is removed from the blowpipe, and is placed in an oven to begin an overnight slow cooling process.

This activity requires just 5 minutes to create- so if you find yourself in our shop on an ‘off blow’ day, have a large group on a budget and short on time- this makes for a great pocket treasure to commemorate your visit. Choose from one of our steel stamps and make your mark in molten glass!
Medallion must cool overnight- available for pick up next day after 12 noon- or may be shipped for add’l charge.


Bottoms-Up
Bottoms Up! : Glass Mug

Bottoms Up! Our latest and quite possibly our favorite Blow of the year. After choosing your colors for your handle and mug body, partner up with not one, but two glassblowers to help you blow your very own glass mug.

Whether you choose to make this your official Float Mug or the only vessel to sip your craft brew from this Blow Your Own is one not to be missed and always has folks signing up for a second round.  This Blow comes with a drink ticket ‘on the house’ from us to you from one of several local breweries.


May-Flowers
May Flowers: Glass Flower
Dates: May 4-May 25

Age Restrictions: 12 and up

Ages 12 and up have the opportunity to shape and manipulate hot furnace glass in this glass sculpting experience.  Our professional staff will guide you through this multi-step process.  Choose the colors and pattern of flower you’ll be making, and take a seat in the glassblower’s bench.  You’ll be using traditional glassmaking tools to stretch and shape molten glass just like glass artists.  After the gather of glass is sculpted, the flower is placed in an oven to begin an overnight cooling process.


The-Great-Pumpkin-Blow
The Great Pumpkin Blow

If schleppin’ a pumpkin out from the farm pasture doesn’t get you into the harvest spirit –this blow may do the trick- You’ll start your great pumpkin by choosing your colors for your pumpkin body and its stem, next partner up with one of our professional glassblowers to begin your bountiful design.  This blow allows for you to experience using molds to create texture on your pumpkin and stem all the while keeping you and the cool end of things. You will shape the pumpkin by blowing air through the moving blowpipe as the glassblower guides the glass with special tools.  The finale comes with the crowning of the pumpkin with its stem-

Blow-Ho-Ho
Blow Ho-Ho: Glass Ornament
Date: Nov 2- Dec 28

Age Restrictions: Open to All Ages

Open to all ages, this experience allows you to work with hot glass up close, while staying at the cool end of the glassblowing pipe at all times.  You’ll start by choosing the glass colors you want to use and the shape of your ornament, and then partner with our professional glassblowers to blow your design.  You will shape the ornament by blowing air thru the moving blowpipe where it is trapped within the glass.  After you and the glassblower have shaped your ornament, it is removed from the blowpipe, a glass loop is added and it is placed in an oven to begin an overnight slow cooling process.
